Initially, my setup includes a Ryzen 5 3400g B450M DS3H with 16 GB DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz (8x2, R7 370). I have an 1TB HDD and an EVGA 500 B1 external graphics card. Recently, while using Discord’s Obs Preview to view my game capture card output for PS4, the system froze with a black screen after a loud error. The PC became unresponsive, and I had to shut it down. After restarting, the graphics card failed to display any video, prompting a reinstall of Windows 11. When using default drivers, the display remained blank until I installed proper drivers, at which point the screen turned black again, fans stopped, and the whole system froze. I ended up entering safe mode to remove the drivers.

I inspected the graphics card closely, found the thermal paste to be old and dry, and replaced it. Despite this, the issue persisted. I considered upgrading to an RX 6600XT but was deterred by the poor result. Now I’m wondering if this problem might have been caused by a hardware fault or a software glitch. Anyone have insights into why it stopped working after these changes? Thanks in advance.

Passed away due to aging... Since this card is eight years old, it makes sense it passed away naturally.
