Hello, I've noticed my computer frequently shutting down while gaming. I recently installed an additional 16GB of Corsair CMW16GX4M2D3600C18 RAM, bringing the total to 32GB. The D.O.C.P profile is active and operating at 3600MHz. I haven't experienced any problems with my previous 16GB setup. My system specs include a Ryzen 7 3800X TUF x570 processor along with the 32GB Corsair RAM. I'm using an RX 580 graphics card and have run Windows RAM tests without any errors. Memtest86 completed all passes successfully, and temperatures remain stable. I suspect the RAM might be the cause, though other factors could be involved. After a full Windows reset and driver updates (chipset, graphics, BIOS, etc.), the crashes persist during Apex or Fortnite, Red Dead Redemption 2, and even RDR2. I've tried reinstalling games and updating drivers, but issues continue. The RAM supports 3600MHz, but some sources suggest it may struggle with all four slots. Would lowering the RAM speed to 3200MHz help? Are there other steps I should consider? I usually manage to play a few Fortnite or Apex games without problems, but RDR2 often crashes at least once. The highest confirmed speed for 4 DIMMs is around 2933. The IMC may not reach 3600. Consider downclocking to 3200.
Use the new kit alone first and verify. If successful, proceed with all four sticks, setting the soc to 1.15 and dram to 1.35. Then test 2933 with xmp/docp, followed by 3200 and finally 3600. Experimenting with different combinations can be interesting, and achieving 3600 on Zen's imc is quite challenging, particularly with four sticks.
