Hi, Venno here. Someone i know bought a laptop recently but it appears that the Laptop isn't willing to start up fully. It's an "Acer Nitro AN515-54" Linux operating system. Once they start up the Laptop it's stuck at the booting up screen where it says to press a key to continue or skip the "startup.nsh" We've tried going into the BIOS and check the boot tab but there's only 1 button called "EUFI_SHELL" and pretty much does nothing. It's a newly bought laptop so don't really understand why it won't start up. Thanks for reading and your time.

I don't have access to those details. You'll need to check your system logs or use a tool like `lsb_release` or `uname` to find the distribution, and review installation records for installation information.

Not sure about which Linux distribution and retailer installed it, do you?

The person who bought the laptop likely set it up incorrectly. Identify the desired distribution, erase the internal storage, and perform a fresh installation.

Consider a fresh setup of Windows 10. If your system meets the hardware requirements, I’d go ahead and reinstall Linux.

It arrived just an hour ago. The first thing I noticed was the screen in the photo I took when I began using the laptop.

She got the laptop from someone else. The person who tried to install Arch did a terrible job. Reach out to the laptop's seller and ask for a partial refund. For the device itself, simply erase the storage and perform a fresh installation of the desired operating system.

Verify secure boot status and attempt to disable it within the UEFI settings. Also consider the scenario where Linux wasn't installed and the system is labeled as "Linux."

It managed to boot to EFI shell. From here OP should be able to load the kernel and then the OS but he not only shouldn't have to do it, but it might not even work.
