System failure: Budget constraints prevent replacement.
System failure: Budget constraints prevent replacement.
I've been listening to the podcast for a while, but this will be my first time joining the forum in a long time. I own a PowerSpec from my work at Microcenter. Recently, my system has been crashing with blue screens daily. I installed bluescreenview and checked ntoskrnl.exe, but Windows Defender's scan didn't help. The Memory Diagnostics Tool also didn't resolve the issue. A factory reset didn't fix it either. Anyone have suggestions? I'm open to trying anything.
Run MemTest86 to verify your RAM. It might also indicate a driver issue. Did you experience immediate crashes after resetting the PC to factory settings or following a Windows update? Have you attempted a clean Windows installation? Assess your drive condition using Crystal Disk Info if it's an SSD. For HDDs, consider using hdsentinel.
This situation has been ongoing—have you checked for BIOS updates? If available, consider reverting to a previous version. Have you performed any CPU or GPU overclocking? If yes, reset those settings to factory defaults to see if it resolves the issue. Run chkdsk and sfc to detect corrupted files. If none of these steps help, you might want to format the drive and install a fresh Windows copy to rule out software-related problems.
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to instructions since Windows doesn't allow file manipulation there.
