I used to believe Samsung SSDs were a safe choice, but they surprised me with a few options. I remain loyal because they perform well and their SSD management/update tool works nicely for me. Linus has shared results using Sabrent Rocket drives in his content, though I'm unsure about their long-term stability. There are no complaints about Western Digital SSDs—I haven't heard anything about the WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 or Samsung 970 Evo Plus. Samsung has had some issues recently with the 970, but I recently purchased one and they now have the latest firmware. Unless you buy used or from a store that hasn't restocked in months, you'll likely get the newest version. Firmware updates are fast via the Magician app. One more point: is your storage configured for AHCI? (Advanced → Storage Configuration → SATA Mode) Probably not critical, though it seems to cause problems on Intel systems according to what I've read.
Thanks, I’ll consider this when I receive my refund and place a new order. Also tried that before since I followed several troubleshooting instructions, but putting it in RAID caused a bootloop—probably I’ll experiment more until I can drop it off at the post office.
Various locations offer the same price for the Crucial P3 as the Western Digital WD 570, but in good working condition.
The system recognized the drive during raid mode. You may want to check for any recommended actions or settings to resolve this issue.
