I own an Asrock a240m-hdv motherboard equipped with a Ryzen 5 2400g chipset and 16 gigabytes of RAM from TeamGroup. This build is an ABS preassembled unit, and I haven’t modified any components since installation. Over the past year, the system began experiencing random crashes while using Arch Linux, freezing entirely and failing to execute SysRq commands, necessitating a hard reboot. To verify if the RAM was the issue, I ran memtest86, which detected 142 errors. After replacing one of the memory modules, the test continued but ultimately failed. I then swapped the remaining sticks and attempted to boot again, but it still wouldn’t power down. It doesn’t emit any beep codes, and no display appears when I power it on, though the fans do spin. I’ve tried inserting both modules in different slots without success. The unusual behavior is that the system appears to function intermittently—pressing the power button doesn’t immediately shut it off, so I must keep holding it until it powers down.
