I just completed assembling my PC and installed Windows using a USB drive to an NVMe SSD without any problems. After booting up, the system started but displayed a CPU fan error. I wasn’t sure why it appeared at first. I pressed F1 to enter setup and checked the BIOS to confirm the boot device was facing the SSD, which it was. After restarting, the error message reappeared: “press f1 to setup.” It turned out the CPU fan was connected to the wrong header. I corrected it and powered on the PC. Now I’m getting a blank screen instead of any prompts or fan noise. I looked up the BIOS settings and online guides but found nothing useful. Also, the CMS is disabled—should I update my MOBO via flash? The box indicated it was ready for the 5000 series, but I’m not sure. My components are: AMD 7 5700X, ROG Strix B550-A, NVMe WD Black SN770.
