System fails to boot following PSU modification.
Hello. My friend replaced his PSU and got a new one (Asus Rog Strix 650w). I wouldn’t try it again. The power cable is in the right spot, but we couldn’t get it to work. The motherboard is an ASUS B360-F. We see a green light on the ROG logo, but the SB_PWR LED stays orange and then disappears after a while. Everything seems connected properly, yet the PC won’t start. Any suggestions?
No issues here, nothing extra on hand... But could it prevent the system from launching?
The rog led and sb_pwr led are flickering but no further action is taken.
It seems your RAM might have been damaged while cooking the PSU. From what I understand, a PC typically won't start without functional RAM. It could be useful to look for any additional RAM and test it to determine if that's the problem before continuing with repairs.
Attempted without using a GPU, and the connection was tested in both directions on the power supply. The cables haven't been altered since I only changed the PSU, nothing else modified.
