I saw the issue for the first time when trying to update Windows. They told me I needed to restart, so I did. My PC screen went dark and the CPU light turned red, but it didn’t start again. I checked online and thought maybe a pin was bent. My specs are i5-4690K from ASUS Z87-A.

I'm not familiar with enough details, but the Z87 requires a BIOS update for that CPU. Will your PC power on and can you access your old Windows version?

I’m able to launch Windows properly and the BIOS was updated after installing the CPU, but I’m having trouble restarting the PC. I can power it off and then turn it back on, but I don’t seem to be able to restart it normally.

Verify if the restart choice exists: Navigate to Start -> Control Panel -> Taskbar and Start Menu -> Properties -> Power Button option -> Restart.
