I own a Mercusys MR70X router that’s been with me under a year. The performance is great considering my budget, but it’s been acting up whenever I try to use it. I still have warranty coverage, but should I send it back for repair (RMA) or return it for cash and upgrade to the Archer AX10 for just 10€ more? It’s mostly used as a Wi-Fi access point, so I don’t think a premium model is necessary. I’ve already tried a factory reset and firmware update. The router is set to AP mode since it’s only handling WiFi.
Are there extended network cables attached to it? If yes, attempt to detach them and see how it performs with shorter ones. I've noticed many routers struggle with long cables. I purchased a compact 5-port switch to handle the long run and then linked a shorter cable to the router. For a very simple configuration (only short cables, operating in AP mode) that can be returned for repair, I'd consider it.
No problem, only one cable from my switch, roughly 1 meter long. It worked fine before, but stopped functioning recently. I’ll send it back for replacement since it’s still under warranty.
