System experiencing instability and crashes frequently.
Hey there, Vulpes. It seems you've faced similar problems for quite some time now. The issue began when you upgraded from your 1060 GTX to the RX 6900 XT. Frequent crashes have become more common, though they still vary in frequency. Despite updating the BIOS multiple times, performing over ten Windows reinstalls, switching drivers, and even trying professional and basic drivers, nothing has resolved the problem. Recently, I replaced my 6900 XT with an XFX 7900 XTX and upgraded my PSU from 850W to 1200W (Bequiet Pure Power). Still, the crashes persist. I'm close to upgrading everything—new RAM, CPU, and more. From what you shared, it looks like the PSU isn't the root cause. Since your PSU was released in 2017, I assumed it might not handle the power spikes, but yours is significantly newer than my system: Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB DDR4-3600MHz, G.Skill Ripjaws ASUS B550-E 1200W, BeQuiet Pure Power 80+ Platinum, XFX 7900 XTX. I've also purchased Karhu RAM Test and OCCT personal, but I'm still trying to understand what's going on.
This situation hasn't changed much. It wasn't an issue for me two weeks ago but suddenly became problematic. I've attempted nearly every solution you suggested, yet nothing worked. My hardware includes a 7900XTX GPU, Merc Speedster processor, Gigabyte B550 B550 Gaming X RAM (64GB, 3600Mhz), and Corsair Gold+ 1000W power supply. I've also tried running SFC and DISM scans, disabling system settings in AMD Addrenaline, turning off game overlays, adjusting BIOS processor clock speeds, reinstalling Windows and games. So far, the problem has been limited to Steam titles, except for League of Legends outside Steam, which has recently started showing issues. My other games—Rust, COD MW2 Warzone 2.0, GTFO—are functioning normally. I've disabled DPI scaling in Windows, run applications as admin, stopped fullscreen optimizations, defragmented drives, updated Windows, and unplugged VR. I have two LG monitors (FreeSync on one, Adaptive Sync on the other). Monitor 1 runs at 240Hz while Monitor 2 is at 144Hz. COD occasionally displays error codes when it crashes, likely due to file access problems or system corruption. After reinstalling Windows and running scans for eight hours, I still encountered issues that persisted despite repairs.
I've encountered similar problems with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX CORSAIR - VENGEANCE RGB PRO 32GB (2PK x 16GB) 3600MHz DDR4 C18 ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) Western Digital Black SN850 1TB TLC PCI Express 4.0 X4 NVMe M.2 2280 Seasonic Focus GX-1000 PSU. I found a short-term fix but not a permanent solution. - On Adrenaline Edition Software Go to "Performance" Tab > Tuning > GPU Tuning Preset > Choose "Balanced" - On the "HOME" tab Go to "Graphics Profile" Select "Manage Profile" in there select "Power Saving Profile" Then turn on "Radeon Chill" and adjust both "Min and Max FPS" to 144. So far no crashes except during MW3 Campaign mode, then I lowered the FPS to 60 while playing Campaign and everything worked. Hope this assists.
I faced the same problems too. My solution was limiting the maximum FPS to 150. I also instructed my GPU to operate at only 95% of its performance in Adrenaline mode. After making these changes, I no longer experienced crashes. I should say that even when I let it run without limits, the issue persisted. I’m currently using a 7700x, Merc 310 7900 XT, 32 GB RAM at 6000 MHz. Hope this helps!
Hi everyone, do you have any reliable solution left? I've been working for two weeks trying to resolve this issue, but it only works temporarily—lasting a few days before it returns. I don't want to replace my RX 7900 XTX and go back to the troublesome situation. I'm at the end and feeling really stuck, the frustration is intense... Edit: I discovered a fix that helped with GPU crashes, which might assist others too. Steps I followed: limited max frequency to 2250, set voltage to 1100, capped FPS at 100, and turned off AMD SmartACESS Memory. Updated on December 30, 2023 by AnnublS.
