Started assembling my third machine, functioned well with the standard BIOS but now repeatedly freezes under stress, and when switched to BIOS stock it fails to boot into Windows. The login screen crashes during startup. Components: Power supply Gigabyte P1000Gm, RAM Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB), DDR4 3200MHz CL16 CPU, Intel i7-13700K, AIO Arctic Liquid Freezer II, GPU Radeon RX 6950 XT XFX Speedster, Mobo Asus PRIME Z790-P.
Your CPU appears to be running at or below optimal performance. Make sure your cooler is installed and functioning correctly. Also, note that you're reaching high temperatures (98c/104c) despite a maximum power output of only 187w, while maintaining a minimum of 89c. This suggests cooling issues on your side.
Without fans connected the temperature increases gradually, but with all three fans active it cools effectively. Could this mean the pump functions but isn't working well? :S Also, I recently bought a Zalman CNPS10X, but I haven’t noticed any difference in performance. My Aio is just a month old, and I’ve re-seated the CPU and reapplied thermal paste—still no change.
I noticed that too, but I needed to confirm my understanding. It seemed odd why someone would run a system without adequate heat removal. The fans need to be active and running constantly or your temperatures will keep climbing until the system slows down or stops. AIOs can absorb heat from the surroundings, but I’m not aware of any that function without airflow. For context: the cooler I use with my 5800x works well, usually staying under 60°C with the lid on at 28°C outside.
