System experiences unexpected pauses and slowdowns.
My computer is experiencing stuttering issues beyond just the display, affecting sound and other functions. It mainly happens during gameplay with multiple applications open, but returns to normal after a short while—usually 1-2 minutes. This behavior started after reinstalling Windows and changing RAM, though those steps didn’t resolve it. Monitoring through Task Manager shows no changes when stuttering begins, making it hard to pinpoint the cause. Despite having a mid-range setup (GTX 1050Ti, Ryzen 5, 8GB RAM, etc.), games still freeze and require restarts. I have a 2TB HDD and a 250GB SSD, but the problem persists. Could you suggest any solutions?
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. You wanted to mention x8 and clarify that 16 was delivered without any issues.
It seems like the performance issue might stem from a CPU limitation if you notice lag.
It varies quite a bit, usually taking around 30 minutes to an hour of playtime, regardless of the game or settings. This issue isn't limited to games—it can also occur when the PC boots up with the browser open or Discord running. I've found that closing Discord and keeping the browser open often resolves it, most of the time. Even without Discord active, the problem persists. When I first got the PC, it functioned perfectly for three to four years. I upgraded it with an SSD and added more RAM recently, but changed the RAM just yesterday, and the issue still exists.
It seems the issue took time to appear after the first upgrade. It started suddenly, which caught me off guard. I reinstalled Windows Update at that point but the problem persisted. I considered checking the RAM because it wasn’t synchronized back then. Changing both RAM sticks now might have helped. I also cleaned the PC thoroughly and replaced the thermal paste, though the computer ran cool. It’s possible the CPU is the issue, or maybe the SSD/HDD are causing stuttering sounds. The GPU doesn’t seem to be the cause either. Any thoughts?
