Hello, I'm struggling with a problem that's making me unsure about bringing my PC in or swapping parts. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what's wrong. Usually, I manage things myself without needing online help. Suddenly, my monitor goes completely black and the whole system freezes for about three minutes. The other screen still shows something, but it also freezes. This makes me think the issue might be with the display rather than the graphics card. After the crash, a warning about an AMD bug tool pops up. When I fill out the form, nothing changes. Sometimes it happens once an hour, other times not at all. I've tried several fixes: turned off HDR, updated drivers and software (including Samsung monitor drivers), disabled display enhancements from AMD's Adrenaline edition, switched display settings, upgraded cables, changed connection types, used a single monitor, switched HDMI to DisplayPort, removed and reinserted RAM, cleaned dust from the case, watched temperatures, and even cleaned my PC. All temps are normal. I'm feeling pretty frustrated.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be really helpful. Thanks for understanding—I'm just trying to figure this out on my own. P.S. The crash seems to stop when I lower the monitor's refresh rate from 240Hz to 144Hz. Still, it's not a fix since the monitor supports 240Hz and my card should handle it.

I resolved this problem by connecting the monitor straight to a wall outlet. Previously, it was powered through a high-quality surge protector. I hope using a UPS could also assist, though I prefer avoiding them due to their size and unnecessary complexity.

They possess certain benefits. Surge protectors tend to deteriorate over time, turning into essentially extension cords. They’re also significantly more affordable. Besides that, many devices include switches. It’s possible they were damaged during transport. If a surge protector fails, you can use the warranty period to file a complaint with the manufacturer and receive a replacement. For non-warranty units, it’s best to replace them regardless. The solution involves adjusting the Windows settings to prevent the monitor from putting it to sleep. This is the primary reason.

Thanks for your assistance. Recently, the problem continued but less often. The surge protector now safeguards my PC and DAC/AMP connections. For now, I’m keeping the monitor plugged straight into the wall. I suspect the solution was upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. A complete reinstall or similar action might have resolved it too. I’m relieved the monitor is functioning properly again. I’ll keep sharing updates if anyone else faces this issue.
