I experienced my PC freezing into a black screen while trying to render in AutoDesk Revit 2023 or opening the materials dialog in Revit. Initially, I assumed the problem was with Revit itself, but it also occurred when I ran Cinebench. I excluded the software issue by unplugging all backup drives and leaving only the M.2 drive active, as the Autodesk program runs on Windows. When I restart the computer, sometimes the system reports the CPU has only 4 cores and 8 threads—uncertain if this indicates a hardware problem. Your system specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, 1 TB X570 Aorus Ultra, GeForce 3060, 32GB RAM, Windows 10, Samsung M.2 drives running programs and storage, BIOS up to date. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ensure all chipset and GPU drivers are updated. Verify proper installation and check temperatures to confirm they are within acceptable ranges.

Yes, all chip sets and GPU versions are current. The CPU functions like a water cooler, maintaining temperatures around 60°C. The video card is correctly identified as the 1.0 model in Windows 10, resolving OS compatibility problems.

The EVGA 850 platinum performs well until roughly two weeks ago. No new drivers have been released, and updates are limited to Windows alone. It seems checking visually might be the only option currently.

Cinebench is a demanding CPU benchmark tool... avoid GPU usage... verify RAM upgrades.
