Hi,
I recently installed the system on an i5-14600kf with ASRock b660m steel legends ddr5, wifi, and faced issues such as crashes during games, stress tests failing, and dead screens on Windows 11. On Windows 10, games close after some time without any critical messages in the logs. Any advice or insights?
System details:
i5-14600kf
Fan cooler with 220tdp
ASRock b660m steel legends ddr5
Patriot 2x16 ddr5 6400
Old PC components:
4070 super asus tuf
M2 kingston 1tb
750w Asus tuf
All twice installed win 11 came out first, now they're trying 10th, it's better but not perfect.
Could you clarify which stress test you performed?
What are the precise symptoms you're experiencing? Game crashes to desktop, black screens, PC freezes, rebooting?
How do you evaluate differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Have you applied the most recent Windows updates, graphics drivers, and chipset drivers?
What is the age of your power supply unit?
Did you turn on XMP mode?
test using Aida for everything except gp
On Windows 11 we have serious issues during reboots, on Windows 10 it just restarts to the desktop. All updates are complete, drivers are also refreshed
PSU is 7 months old, XMP is active
The AIDA64 stress test halted due to a hardware problem, most likely related to RAM. Consider turning off XMP and using the standard RAM speed and timing. If the issue disappears, it suggests instability from the XMP settings. It's possible an i5-14600kf with a b660m chip isn't stable at 6400MT/s memory clock.
