System encountered an unexpected shutdown. Please check connections and power sources.
I've noticed an issue where the system abruptly stops during a session. The shutdown happens instantly, and power usage appears to be much lower than expected—around 650 watts from the wall, as shown on the PSU LED display. Initially, I suspected a cooling problem with the components in my case. After checking CPU and GPU temperatures, everything stayed below 75°C. Now it seems like the system powers down suddenly, sometimes during intense gaming, without warning. When it does shut down, the RGB lights stay on, fans spin, but it feels like the PC is just entering sleep mode, drawing only about 75 watts consistently as indicated by the PSU display. I have no clear idea of what's causing this, as there are no error messages and temperatures look normal from the inside. The air around the PC seems hot, yet all major components stay under 75°C. I'm struggling to figure out the problem and would appreciate some guidance or diagnostic help. My setup includes a Ryzen 7950X with direct cooling, EK 280 AIO, and several fans. There are five exhaust fans, including four that also push air through the radiator, and four intake fans running at full speed.
It looks like you're trying to assess your system's power consumption during hibernate and sleep states. Let me know if you'd like help interpreting the results or troubleshooting any related issues.
P.S. Your case's power button seems to be in disrepair—smoking can definitely affect its performance!
Hi, thank you for your response. I considered putting the PC into sleep or hibernation, but I’m not sure. The best way to restart it after entering this state is to shut down the power supply unit and then turn it back on, or use the Wake-on-LAN app on my phone. Pressing the power button while in this state doesn’t do anything. I recently changed cases, so I think the issue might be with the new ones. The wattage I’m seeing comes from the PSU’s LED screen, which indicates how much power it draws from the wall.
