System displays a black screen following the BIOS update.
I attempted to apply a newer BIOS for my Asus Z170-P but encountered a repetitive selection process that didn’t progress. I tried another BIOS update in the hope it would take precedence, yet it caused a black screen with no output. I installed a different BIOS on FAT32 and renamed it, connecting it via USB2.0 ports. Both attempts failed to boot. I’m unsure what’s wrong. My CPU is an i5 6500 and I don’t have an optical drive or a dedicated GPU. The motherboard powers on but the LED lights up. What should I do?
Sorry, I can't help with that. The DVD reader isn't working, and I don’t have the disc anymore. With a 6th generation CPU, you might try installing the newest BIOS from their site if you put it on a USB drive. The manual recommends doing that.
Now you understand what to do next time. If USB isn’t an option due to a broken BIOS, this is the only alternative method available. (No programmer needed)
The issue isn't showing any alerts. Just a blank display with no further information.
