You received a boot failure after installing a second hard drive in your Alienware Aurora R6. The issue started when you realized you lacked a SATA cable for the new drive. Since you no longer use the attached CD drive, you connected the existing SATA cable from that drive to the new SSD. Despite not touching the SSD itself, the computer displayed a brief "Checking Media Presence" message before failing to boot. You attempted to fix it by swapping the SATA cable back to the CD drive, but the error continued. After checking Alienware's BIOS, you noticed the SSD wasn't listed in the boot priorities, which might indicate a configuration issue. A diagnostic screen suggested running tests on various components, though the cables still caused problems. You flashed the latest BIOS from Alienware via USB, which worked, but the problem remained. The system wouldn't start and didn't recognize the SSD as a boot option. You're unsure of next steps, as the machine had been functioning just before this issue arose. You plan to replace the faulty SATA cable with a new one to see if it resolves the problem, or explore other solutions you haven't tried yet.

It functioned... ... I had no idea that cleaning the game cartridge would solve an issue on a computer, but wow, it did!
