Windows 7 system is damaged and displays strange symbols during startup, making it impossible to view anything. All USBs and disks were disconnected, yet nothing functions. What should be done?

Consider using a Linux live DVD to start the system (Avoid installing Linux; just run from the disc). Examine your HDD files for any anomalies and check if any were installed or modified when the issue began.
Have you attempted booting into Safe Mode (press F8)?

Can you enter the BIOS? Please boot using the Windows installation disk and attempt to repair Windows 7. What hardware are you connecting?
