Hi everyone, I'm asking about the safety of a PC that's not connected to the internet. It's clear it won't receive updates from Windows Defender or other security services. Still, nearby devices on the same network can be at risk since they're online. What's the chance a virus could move through an internet-connected machine and reach this offline one? The offline device has its own IP and subnet but lacks the gateway's address, so it can join the local network but not beyond that. Thanks for your help!

It's not very secure. As long as it's on the same network, many malware today can spread to other connected devices if one gets infected. For better security, disconnect it from the network completely.

It should definitely be more secure than being connected to both the local network and the internet.

Yes, it would be safeguarded from malware that doesn't move across your network to compromise other devices.
