I purchased an ASRock B360M PRO4, an i7-9700K, and an i-5 7500T. Someone here might know if these components work together. I’m not sure about my research yet, so I don’t want to risk wasting money.

The CPU board is compatible with the 9700K starting from BIOS version P3.20, but it doesn’t allow overclocking, which means you won’t reach its full potential. Consider these points before investing if you’re concerned about getting your money’s worth.

It requires BIOS version P4:00 or newer for compatibility. The 7th generation processor isn't supported at all, meaning the 9700K won't function unless the board includes BIOS version P4 and above.

I'm even more puzzled now. I skimmed the article and thought the 7500T was the model they were upgrading from, but that doesn't make sense, and it seems unlikely anyone would swap a 9700k for a 7500T.

The CPU compatibility list shows two versions of 9700K for various BIOS releases, which adds more confusion.

For the i5 7500T, you’ll need a motherboard compatible with socket 1151 and the Intel 100 or 200 chipset, which supports that processor.

No unless you modify the mod to include kabylake, which seems unlikely unless you're using it for a home server or similar purpose. Instead, consider purchasing an affordable H110 at around $30 and swapping the i5 for it.
