Hello everyone. Some time ago I upgraded my system from Windows 10 to Windows 11 after noticing that support for Windows 10 was no longer available. It worked initially, but now when I switch tabs using alt-tab in games, especially World of Warcraft, and then return to the game, my screen sometimes flashes black or stays dark for a short time. This happens more often when I open a Chrome window from within the game. It really bothers me because I’m trying to find a solution. I adjusted HDR settings and checked various display options, but nothing resolved the issue. I realized it might be related to keeping the cursor on the alt-tabbed window or moving it around. Once I return to the main game window, the screen clears up. I considered a BIOS update, but it won’t install automatically and rolls back after a while. My system details are: motherboard Asus TUF Z-590 gaming, Wi-Fi Plus, CPU i7-11700K, 32GB RAM at 3200MHz, graphics Intel 3080 Ti. I tried updating via the UEFI flash tool without errors, but it restarts and leaves a black screen afterward. I also checked the motherboard for faults, noting a red CPU light that changes to yellow for about half a second before fading, along with erratic fan speeds. I’m not an expert, but I can look up more info online, though fixing these problems feels frustrating. I’m currently running BIOS version 0820 and the latest is 1801. I really hope someone can assist me. Regarding the BIOS update, does it require a standard USB installation or involves a CMOS reset? It sounds complicated and I don’t want to risk damaging my system. Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you attempted the display driver uninstaller with a fresh installation of your graphics cards? The frequent black screens suggest a GPU driver problem instead of a BIOS update.
