System crashes during game launch (Fortnite)
I used an A750GL MSI Mag PSU with a 2070 Super. Updated drivers for my 9070xt and the same PSU caused my PC to shut down completely during Fortnite lobby, game load, or transition between games. The issue seems linked to the PSU being the RM850X model. What should I do next? My CPU is 7800X3D and the motherboard is B650 Eagle Ax.
Typically the problem lies with the power supply, though you mentioned a fresh PSU wasn’t the solution. Another possibility is a thermal concern, but please verify your own observations.
Task manager must display GPU temperature in the performance section. Launch Fortnite or join a game to check if overheating occurs. Does this occur in other titles as well or just in Fortnite?
Tested solely on the CPU inside. It stopped working at 89 degrees. I got an AIO to manage temperatures, but it still powers off. Reinstalling the older 2070 model didn’t cause any problems.
