Hey there, your PC build is off to a great start! The mouse and keyboard freezing in BIOS after navigating submenus is a common issue. Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for Windows 10 and check for any pending updates. Regarding the used GPU, it might affect driver compatibility—consider updating drivers or testing with a known-good GPU. Let me know if you need more help!

Start by installing Windows, then add the necessary drivers for your motherboard and additional components such as chipset and GPU drivers. Check if you can update the BIOS using the manufacturer’s software on the motherboard. If the issue continues, consider testing alternative mouse and keyboard combinations—it might not be related to the GPU.

I'm having trouble installing Windows and selecting the boot drive. Would you like suggestions on how to get Windows without using the BIOS? Any alternatives?

Someone created a Windows installation USB. If you have another computer, you can try it yourself. When you insert the USB into the PC and start it, it should automatically select the USB as the boot source. This was the method I used for installing my PC last year.

I did make the usb. I'll redo it then post the screen that it shows. for some reason it only goes to try to do in installation the first time i try to boot it. It says that there is unrecognized hardware, even though it is a new instaltion.

I assume you're connecting via a USB keyboard and mouse. Have you checked all USB ports, including the front panel? Using a flash drive with an LED, ensure the light activates in every port. With the parts in use, CPU and motherboard, don't worry—most issues are straightforward. We're not in panic mode; 98% of PC problems are easy to fix.

I currently lack an additional keyboard, mouse, or USB. I plan to get one by the weekend. I'm using a Logitech G413 keyboard, a G502 HERO mouse, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600, and a Gigabyte B550M DS3H motherboard.

It seems the USB is functioning properly now. Updating the BIOS accordingly.

I've checked everything. Could be the drivers, not the motherboard.
