System Check - 2025
System Check - 2025
Happy New Year!
Just a simple system check for you guys in the know. I wasn't able to get the GPU I wanted at the time due to shortage etc. And it was suggested that the i5 12600K was the best price at the time unless I as going i9. I currently have the following specs and just wanted to get input from the pros as to where I stand. Again my inquiry is more aligned to CPU, GPU and operating system.

I would like to make sure I am making use of all the hardware bandwith I have availible and not limited on anything that would be hindered by 1 or 2 parts that restrict the same.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
Keeping up with technology advancements.
You should've passed on a PCPartPIcker listing of ease of manipulation. You might want to think about a 2x32GB DDR4-3600MHz ram kit instead of 4 sticks of ram, since that would add undue stress on the memory controller. The rest of the system looks fine though you're missing the case to hold all of the parts inside it. You're advised to stylize your thread like so; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. so we understand the purpose of the build, what your options are are and what your budget for the build is in case there's room for improvement or other options at your disposal.
Did you mention the GPU, and do you already have the 3060 or is it just a concept for you? You might want to check if AMD socket am5 is available, as it supports am5 up until 2027. This could be useful if you plan to upgrade your CPU later with the board you’re planning to purchase today.
If your system is performing to your liking, there is nothing to worry about. If it isn't, then we need to know specifically what are you are not seeing the performance you would like.
Your current setup is satisfactory and well balanced given the era it was created. Have you increased the clock speeds?
What are your plans for using this machine?
With a dedicated graphics card, I anticipate gaming capabilities.
In what areas might your PC fall short of your needs?
Do you have a financial plan in place?
I understand you already have this system. If you're playing games, what resolution are you using? The 3060 might be outdated for 1440p, so that's something worth considering. You could also upgrade to a new i7 if you can afford it.
These components don't work together. What CPU model are you using?
