Hey All,
This issue has occurred multiple times, especially after I made some changes to my system. I can play Diablo 4 or Cyberpunk 2077 for around 20 minutes before the computer crashes and redirects me to the UEFI.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:
- Physically removed and reinstalled all components on the PC, ensuring all cables were properly connected and that RAM and GPU were installed correctly.
- Updated BIOS and chipset settings.
- Performed Memtest 86+ for six hours, with a passing result.
- Executed Cinebench twice—both stability and 10-minute tests—without any crashes.
- Ran 3DMark, matching the results of Cinebench, with no interruptions.
- All drivers are current.
- Verified temperatures for CPU and GPU, neither exceeding 75°C.

Current build details:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (New Part)
Motherboard: ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming WiFi II (New Part)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3200 (New Part)
Hard Drive 1: Samsung 980 500GB for OS
Hard Drive 2: Samsung 970 EVOPlus 2TB for Games and Files (New Part)

I’m trying to figure out the cause. My suspicion is that the secondary SSD might be responsible, though I’m not sure how. Any suggestions or additional tests would be very helpful!

Hey there.
Have you looked in the Event Viewer for any system-level issues causing your crash? Also, did you check the temperature of the SSD? On some motherboards, the NVME SSD slot is near the graphics card, which can get very hot. When the graphics card heats up, the SSD also warms up because of their proximity, and this may trigger the SSD to shut down for safety.

Yes, fresh installation of IS following system upgrade. PSU is outdated but an EVGA 750 B3 80+ Bronze works.

The error indicates the computer was shut down abruptly without providing the error details. Consider running the game with the case open and a fan to circulate air. If the crash still occurs, it could be linked to the SSD temperature.

Just completed that attempt while also maintaining the property window open and refreshing it every couple of minutes. The temperatures rose to 55 C within a few seconds, and Cyberpunk stopped working but the PC did. I removed a standard SATA SSD drive, assuming the larger M.2 format would suffice. I’m considering reinstalling it, trying to install a game on there and observing the behavior.

Crash produced the following details:
Version=1
EventType=REDEngineErrorReport
EventTime=0
ReportIdentifier=ffffffff-ffffffff-00000001-00000000
Sig[0].Name=StackHash
Sig[0].Value=0x0000000000000000
Sig[1].Name=ErrorReason
Sig[1].Value=Unhandled exception
Sig[2].Name=InternalVersion

DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version
DynamicSig[1].Value=10.0.22621.2.0.0.768.1
Loaded modules: Cyberpunk2077.exe, various system DLLs

Reinstalled the SSD and placed it in the back of the case, keeping it away from excessive heat. The side panel remains removed, but for an hour now CP2077 is running smoothly without any problems! I plan to test Diablo 4 since that game kept crashing before, and will let you know if any further crashes occur.

EDIT: Unfortunately, it crashed shortly after. However, there’s some positive news—the BSOD now offers a repair option because it couldn’t locate the drive with the OS. After some investigation, I believe the issue is that the M.2 drive is overheating. I’m expecting an AIO to arrive soon to replace the Hyper H212, which is currently causing all the heat. Good luck!

I'm pleased to have assisted. It looks like the issue is becoming more specific. You might also consider using a heatsink for the nVME; it's affordable and works well.

I added a heatsink to that nVME and managed to improve the CPU cooling using an h150i. For extra assurance, I reinstalled the OS as discussed earlier. The case side panel will remain open, and I discovered software that tracks CPU and nVME temperatures. Finally, I replaced the power supply with an EVGA 850 G6.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, I have no clear direction for next steps.
