Hey everyone, occasionally when I play games, browse the web, or use Discord, my computer freezes for a few seconds to ten seconds. After that, everything seems to work again, even though the game runs smoothly. It happens more often when someone joins or leaves my Discord room, but I’m not sure if that’s related. I’ve checked with Event Viewer and found a kernel event error code 28 each time it occurs. It seems like the issue might be caused by USB devices disconnecting and reconnecting, but I’m not sure if that triggers the freeze. I’ve also tried different components—new GPU, RAM, motherboard—and even a clean Windows install—but nothing seems to fix it. I’ve also adjusted power settings and disabled USB suspend, but the problem persists. My PC specs are: GPU Asus Strix 3080, CPU i9 13900K, motherboard MOBO Asus z790-e, RAM Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 64GB, 6400MHz, power supply Corsair Shift Series 1000W NVME, and OS Windows 10 Pro. I’m really frustrated since I built the system and can’t get it to work anymore. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are the newest bios still available? Could it be your power strip or surge protector causing issues? Are the outlets properly grounded?

You're facing a similar issue with your friend's brother on his PC, despite having comparable hardware. It might help to explore the problem further and consider starting with basic troubleshooting steps.
