Hello everyone, I’m feeling a bit stuck today. I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 3200G to a Ryzen 5 5600X. Now my computer won’t boot at all—just the fans spin when I press power, and there’s no display signal or working peripherals. I also realized I forgot to update my BIOS, thinking a new CPU wouldn’t need that. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps: unplugging the GPU, removing the CMOS battery/ram, booting with just the display cables, and even trying to reset by putting the old CPU back in. Nothing has worked so far. I really hope someone can help me out. Here are my details for reference: CPU (now Ryzen 5 5600X), GPU GTX 1660 Ventus OC, motherboard MSI A320M, RAM Hyper X, 8GB storage, SSD and 1TB HDD.
You'll likely need to replace your motherboard as well. The A320 boards don't work with the 5th generation Ryzen processors—only the first, second, and third gen models do. The MSI A320m-A Pro website now includes an updated bio to ensure compatibility with the Ryzen 5000 series processors. Additionally, the original CPU model is reinstated, though it still doesn't function properly despite this change.

They attempted a reset with the old CPU, but it didn't work either.
You two must be buddies, because I see that nowhere about the new motherboard lol! Also, b550 would've been better and still cheap enough. B550 motherboards typically handle 5th gen Ryzen better (in terms of VRMs and more). If they didn't update the BIOS at all, then that's weird that the old cpu isn't working either. Must've bricked the motherboard somehow, if there's no post still.
