When installing games from Steam, the download speed often reaches 100 MBPS. This causes noticeable slowdowns on my PC, making the cursor move slowly and certain actions take longer. Testing my internet speed via Speedtest.net also shows minor delays. Could there be an explanation for this?

Does your operating system reside on the WD drive?

You're looking for ways to improve performance when downloading files. It seems like your computer is handling the download by decoding and compressing the data, then storing it somewhere. This process can cause a slight delay, but shouldn't completely stop everything—especially if the file size is large. Another factor to consider is whether your storage device is nearly full or not. Are you using an SSD or a traditional hard drive? Checking your task manager can help you see what programs are running in the background and monitor CPU usage, temperatures, RAM, and disk activity. These steps might help identify the issue before you find a permanent solution.
