I recently purchased a VR headset and experience frequent laptop freezes during VR gameplay lasting 5 to 10 minutes. The system suddenly drops to around 0.18 GHz with a flat CPU usage graph, which persists unless I perform actions like adjusting power settings or unplugging the charger. On my Acer Predator Tritron 300 (RTX 3070), I set maximum and minimum CPU power to 99%, which limited the clock speed to about 2.3 GHz and kept temperatures near 60°C. This isn’t related to overheating. The issue hasn’t resolved even after cleaning the fans and installing a new operating system. Any suggestions?

Check the Limit Reasons window for red indicators under the CORE column when your CPU runs at its lowest speed. This typically points to a BD PROCHOT throttling issue or a power limit restriction.
