I have a Synology NAS linked to a TP-Link TL-SG105 5-port switch. It provides two ports for my laptops and one for internet via the media panel in my garage. The fourth port is dedicated to the NAS, but I’m experiencing unstable connections. Should I upgrade to a better switch? If yes, which models do you recommend?

The problem likely isn't related to the switch; you might want to test another Ethernet cable. As for what it's doing, clarify your question for better understanding.

I use only 5e cables that are brand new. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t. “Connected isn’t restored.” After turning off my work laptop, I got a stable connection. I think I should add a between-switch to manage all the traffic at once.

Probably, a low-cost switch works for 100-meter runs unless the wire is faulty.

I'm installing yet another switch now, I hope it will function properly. The cable issue seems to be a major problem for me.
