Upgrade your i5 7400 to a high-end i5 10600K with an AORUS motherboard. You're considering AORUS for compatibility with your Gigabyte GPU and possibly the Sync feature. It's worth evaluating if this is better than MSI or another brand. Your current setup supports up to 2133MHz, but the new board will likely run at higher speeds. The RGB sync works on AORUS boards as well, so you can maintain your color settings.
They don’t measure worth by brand. What’s your budget? What’s your approval board? And are you ready to wait for Zen 3?
454 euros mentioned, focusing on sync features rather than brand. z490 aorus elite ac was discussed. No excitement for Zen 3 since my PC builder and friends don’t recommend AMD. I noticed i5 10600k is the top pick at TofuHaroto.
And you assumed they're right? May I ask why? For the board alone?
Yes, since one of them works as an official expert builder with their own firm. Not just the board, plus CPU at TofuHaroto
That doesn't mean he's always right. Why does he say that? Waiting for zen 3 right now is the most logical thing to do. Well to answer your question. The elite is basically a vision G with different looks. Not a bad board by any means. I wouldn't care about the rgb sync and go with an outright amazing board like the tomahawk which uses 12 in pairs so 6 60A/55A power stages and is ever so slightly better than the elite. Though I would still wait for the zen 3.
It's a bit worse now. The game isn't great, but you could get more value for the money.
The high-end model looks better overall, offers more USB ports, and lacks the older ports for older devices. It's unclear what "@TofuHaroto" refers to, but the type C is noted as a specific configuration. The type C might be relevant for certain compatibility reasons.
