Sync only when connected to your home network and for specific files.
Are there any tools or Windows features that let you share files across devices on a local network only when both computers are connected? You mentioned needing just one file—like music, videos, or assignments—to sync between your laptop and home PC. Right now your laptop uses a 250GB SSD, and you don’t want it handling large transfers. I understand this might seem minor, but you often download content at university that you want on your home machine, and your internet speed is limited (around 500MB per download). There’s no way to upgrade everyone in your area, so finding a solution that works offline or with minimal bandwidth would be helpful.
I have no prior experience with this, but I can find some good videos for you.
Use Freenas if it's just a fileserver, as Tek Syndicate likely has a Freenas video.
