Do private servers exist for the game? Before you ask, yes—I’m aware it’s F2P, but the limitations make it impractical.

If you look for it, you might locate it. However, the game offers AAA quality at no cost. Paying a small amount unlocks better features, which feels reasonable. Claiming excessive limitations make it unreasonable to dismiss.

I've tried using free accounts, and it works well enough—it's not overly restrictive. As @ChromeYeti mentioned, spending a few dollars unlocks better features. You can get the game for 8$ along with a month-long subscription. There’s a lot going on, so I’m sharing this link for reference: https://www.google.com/#q=SWTOR+private+server

The game is enjoyable for a short time. However, they disabled the Australian servers, which means I can no longer play.

I never did finish the story for any of my characters. I think I made it the furthest with my bounty hunter. The game is just too much of a WoW clone for me. I don't like standing there pressing the attack button over and over while waiting for cooldowns to end. It's mind-numbing. I hope Bioware makes the KotOR 3 everyone wants someday.

I haven’t played WoW myself, but I’ve spent a lot of time with it and found it quite different from any WoW imitations. If you dislike aspects of MMOs, it’s not about being a clone—it’s about the overall style of the game.

The combat is pretty much exactly like WoW the only difference was that it was more pseudo turn-based (like KotOR), where WoW is a little more real-time. Though the basic mechanics are still the same. You use up whatever special abilities you currently have, and then spam your main attack button while the cooldowns for your stronger abilities reset. Repeat ad nauseum. Not to mention nothing really matters with the exception of your chosen skills. No matter what gear you choose to use, you're still using the same abilities over and over depending on your character and class. And no, every MMO is not like that. Elder Scrolls Online is not like that. Planetside 2 is not like that. Lineage Eternal will not be like that. They said they wanted to be different from most other MMOs like WoW, and really the only difference is the fact that Bioware does a better job at telling stories (which is to be expected, really). Please explain how the core mechanics of the game are actually any different from WoW...

I really felt distinct while playing. It was noticeably heavier and didn’t quite capture the feel of World of Warcraft.
