The question is straightforward. Removing the antenna from the router, installing an SMA socket, and connecting the antenna should work. Alternatively, simply soldering the antenna cable to the existing cable from the router will also function.

From a technical standpoint, it’s a straightforward circuit. Based on your description, no one will think it’s dangerous because it seems like it could cause harm.
