Hello, I'm trying to upgrade my PC. I currently have a Z370 P D3 with a Mobaa, an i5 9600K and DDR4 RAM. I've always preferred Intel, but my first GPUs were from Ati Radeon. I'm not sure about AMD setups yet. My goal is to get something similar to an i5 14600K and a Z790 board, which would cost around 460 euros each if I choose Intel. Alternatively, should I consider a 12th generation i7 instead of the i5 14600K?

Avoid older Intel models, particularly the 14600K, as it offers excellent value. From what I know, the 14600K has never faced stability problems—only the 13/14 700/900K CPUs had some issues. If you're seeking a comparable AMD option, consider a 7000 or 9000 series CPU, which runs on AM5 and can be upgraded with the same motherboard in 3-4 years. The closest alternatives would be the 7600X, 7700X, 9600X, or 9700X. Based on benchmarks and core count, the 14600K provides strong performance for its price, unless you prioritize AMD's extended motherboard support.

Thanks for your response. I was thinking about skipping the latest Intel models since some say they have problems, but I didn’t realize the 600-series would be okay. I’m planning to switch to a 50-series GPU when they release it, and then wait about five to six years before upgrading my motherboard, RAM, and CPU again. Appreciate your tips—I’m likely to get the i5 14600 K probably.
