You can swap your hard drive in your laptop and perform a clean install on the new one. If you use it for a few months, the old drive will remain in place and won’t affect the new installation. The new drive will boot normally from it, as long as you reinstall any necessary drivers and settings.

Consider using a different program for creating a full backup image on an extra drive. Insert the spare drive into the machine, start the Acronis boot media, and restore the earlier image to it. The old drive will then serve as a physical backup of your system. Avoid installing the old drive on another system, as it may damage the bootloader or invalidate your Windows license. Hope this assists!
