Hello, I'm planning to replace my GPU. I have a GT730 with 4GB DDR3 RAM using PCIe 2.0 x8, and I'm considering upgrading to the Gigabite GTX 1650 which is 4GB DDR6 with PCIe 3.0 x16. I'm unsure if the different PCIe versions will work together since my motherboard is H61. Will it be compatible?

Please share your specific motherboard model so I can confirm compatibility with the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.

The motherboard brand is typically Intel or AMD. It supports the required ports, though performance may be slightly affected when using newer PCIe versions.

Identify the precise motherboard model. These budget GPUs are already limited by PCIe 3.0. The same models would probably work just as well if you upgrade to 2.0.

The motherboard you mentioned is Frontech FT-0470 H61, but it seems to be sold mainly in Asia. Could you confirm if it’s suitable for your needs? Thank you!

Online reports suggest PCIE 2.0 compatibility with outliers at 3.0 support levels. Every GPU should function, though actual performance drops vary—around 10%, 25%, or 50% depending on your setup. The transition zone is unclear; while 3.0 is widely discussed, 2.0 remains relevant for now.
