You might be curious about why you're attempting to switch from Windows 10 Pro to Home, but I’m here to clarify my situation. Initially, I had a hard drive with Windows 10 Pro OEM and later transferred it to another machine. Now I own a Windows 10 Home license, though I’m unsure how to install it safely. The Home activation key didn’t work during the activation process. How can I downgrade without losing data?

A complete replacement is required. W10Pro OEM isn’t movable from one model to another. Same applies to W10H.

You should always make sure to back up your data in case something happens.
