Sure! You're considering skipping your purchase because you think the new BIOS will make your system more future-proof for a while. But since you're already using 1080 at 60Hz and RTX 3070, it might not be necessary right now. Just double-check if your current specs align with the new features before deciding.

I did it. Reviewed numerous benchmarks and comparisons. In competitive games I'm already well over 300 fps, on AAA titles the 5% difference doesn't matter much and at 1440p it's even less significant. Probably the "future-proof" aspect between those two CPUs is the same, and I just made an error.

Occasionally games improve noticeably, other times not so much. Playing at 60 hz might not make a big difference. A monitor with a higher refresh rate would be more helpful.

Also me. I'm considering going with 5600g for an extra $10 because it offers more video output from the motherboard, which would be useful for troubleshooting. I don't want to end up needing PCIe 4 cards later on.

Read the article and appreciate it! It seems the next couple to three years should stay consistent whether you go with 3600 or 5600. Probably makes more sense to build up savings and upgrade to an AM5 in a few years.

I completed what you were working on last year and I’m not sorry in the slightest. The improvement is clear—though not as much in average frames per second, it’s significant at the low percentages and frame rates. With the 3600X in ACC, random freezes occurred, dropping to 2FPS at 1% and 0.1%. The 5600X maintained steady performance, never falling below 30FPS with an average of 100 at 1080p. I’m eager to see the boost with the 5800X3D arriving on Monday.

Thanks! Actually, I’m not seeing any FPS drops with my 3600 unit. It’s working fine without the OC or stock fan. I’m satisfied with the performance, and I think I’ll face the same problem with the 3600 in about three years.
