I understand the game demands heavy CPU power on one core. I'm curious—will performance drop when switching to a higher resolution, even if it means losing frames? I'm thinking about upgrading to 1440p for sharper visuals.

Yes, 1440p requires more processing power.

Sure, the frame rate will likely decrease, but it should be manageable depending on your setup. (It shouldn’t be a major hit.)

It varies by processor. Most Intel chips from Ivy Bridge onward with 4.0GHz or higher usually won’t show a noticeable change.

Certainly, increasing pixel output with identical hardware will face challenges!

It varies based on your setup. The frame rate will likely drop, but if your GPU is powerful enough it shouldn’t be an issue (it won’t be a crysis 3).

2500k at 4ghz. Swapping GPUs usually doesn't noticeably affect FPS. Mostly, moving from a 560ti to a 670 is the main reason I'm considering it.
