For about a month now, my Ethernet has been behaving erratically, reverting to 100Mbps from a gigabit connection. It typically takes around 15 minutes for this to occur when streaming or using internet-intensive tasks. Downloading or other online activities work smoothly. I have a Cat6 cable and a motherboard that supports gigabit speeds, so the issue likely isn’t with those components. Options like energy-efficient Ethernet and green Ethernet are disabled (turning them on worsens the problem). When I attempt to force gigabit speeds, it functions perfectly until online games cause intermittent drops every few seconds.

It could be a connectivity problem linked to latency rather than your device's performance.
