Hi! My internet speed is strongest at 600mb/s and works well in Steam and other launchers. When I begin a download in QBittorrent, it runs smoothly, but every few minutes I lose connection for about 10 to 30 seconds. I’m thinking about how many ports the torrent needs and wondering if my router might not be able to handle it because it comes from my internet provider. I’m not sure if upgrading to Ethernet will help, but I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks for your help!

The device I received from my provider also fails under similar conditions and when many connections are opened. Since I already have a high-end router that functions properly, I switched to a model with bridge mode so it can connect directly to my router. You might be able to manage without changing BT settings if you reduce the number of connections.

Download speeds aren't the main concern here. It's the upload that matters most. If you're using 100% of your upload capacity, it could ruin your connection. You should determine how much upload you're using and restrict the amount of torrenting you do. Also, lower-end networking gear might struggle with the number of connections. First, check your torrenting software to see if you can limit its upload usage and observe the results.

Thanks a lot, I was concerned I might be the only one facing this problem. Do you have any suggestions?

I understand, my connection is stable at 600/600 and the speed test confirms it works. The problem isn’t with download speeds while torrenting, but with the crashes that happen.

You probably exceeded the router's capacity.

yesterday i began looking for a new option, but i feel i need a conversion from fiber optic to ethernet. i have serious concerns about which router would be best for my situation (just heavy ethernet use).
