Consider the two options carefully. For your needs—Gigabit speed, stable performance under load, and eight ports—look at the Tp-link TL-SG108S. The SG108S offers a more robust build and better compatibility with Gigabit connectivity, while still providing solid speed and reliability. The TL-SG108E is a good alternative but may have slightly less stability in heavy usage. If you want the best value for eight ports at that price point, go with the SG108S.

For simple Ethernet needs, choose an unmanaged switch. A managed switch offers extra features such as a DHCP server or private VLANs, but these are usually unnecessary and add cost.

unless you're gonna do some squirrely stuff there is no need to buy a managed switch.

If you don’t want to handle it, purchase an unmanaged version or the cheaper alternative.

Not managed... Most of the time I see managed switches that aren't required either.
