Switch from RTX 3080 to RTX 3090 caused a drop in frames per second.
Hey everyone. I just switched from the Zotac RTX 3080 to the MSI RTX 3090 Super X and hoped for a performance increase of at least ten percent. COD WARZONE was supposed to help. Instead, my frame rate dropped. It went from 180 to 200 FPS on the RTX 3080, then to 160 to 190 FPS on the RTX 3090 after using MSI Afterburner. The settings in the game are almost identical. I reinstalled the drivers after swapping the card and changed the PCI type to Gen 4. I also updated my BIOS and window settings. Nothing seems to work. My FPS is still lower than before using the RTX 3080. I ran benchmarks and found the RTX 3090 scored higher than the RTX 3080 by about 2000 points. The issue only appears when playing games. I also noticed my GPU usage is around 60 to 75 percent during COD WARZONE (with MSI RTX 3090). My current build includes an M.2 x570, Ryzen 9 5900X, GTX 1060, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, a Toshiba PSU, and a Focusrite Trident Z Neo 3600. Thank you all for reading this.
