I completely understand! I’d definitely go for the 5900x if possible—just can’t locate an MSRP listing before it disappears. They send a lot of alerts, but I’m missing the chance to act quickly. Thanks again!
You're surprised by how well your Intel CPUs performed back then. Running them smoothly at about 107°C was manageable.
That's impressive! The boiling point of water is indeed extreme, and it can impact materials like silicon over time.
It hasn't happened yet... they're nearly ten years old. I can still reach my top clocks at 4800 on X5690 and 4900 on 3770K. It requires a lot of voltage though—1.6 on the hexa, 1.525 on the quad, and about one tick under CPU OVP.
