Swapping the modem
Swapping the modem
Comcast complicates the setup process. Many features are reachable via the web, while others need an app. It’s frustrating. The monthly cost is around $14 or more. They also don’t offer typical modems; instead, they supply gateways with poor performance.
It's nice to hear others share similar experiences about Comcast... I appreciate their service, but the fees for modems, gateways, and cables are quite high. I haven't used a Comcast device since I had my own before they became common in my area. The cost savings really add up if I ever need to replace it—buying new is cheaper than paying repeatedly over several years. In any case, the person should probably look into their ISP’s channel options and check forums where others use the same provider. My Arris Surfboard had issues with Comcast recently, so I switched to my brother's Linksys, which performed much better.
