I’ve tested several configurations from scratch, but I haven’t changed CPUs during swaps. It’s safe to replace the i7-10700K with the i7-11700K while keeping the rest of the system unchanged. You should experience a smooth boot process without issues. No extra steps needed—just swap and test. Thanks!

Upgrade to the latest version; 11th generation is no longer worth it today.

It’s easy to replace them; just confirm your BIOS is current before proceeding.

He seems hesitant about replacing the entire motherboard. Different chip generations use different socket types—12th gen uses LGA1700, while 10th and 11th use LGA1200.

I found another LGA 1200 MB unit at a reasonable price on the 11th generation chip—perfect for upgrading to support PCIe 4 and potentially creating a second machine if the installation goes smoothly. Appreciate your assistance!
