A month ago, my daily-driver PC failed because I ignored applying thermal paste during its build last year. When I took it to a repair shop, they said the CPU was damaged. Before it stopped working, my screen went black unexpectedly. About a month later, I bought a newer CPU, an AIO cooler, and fresh thermal paste. I installed everything and connected the cables. When I tried to power it on, only a black screen appeared. A boot light appeared but didn’t start. The fans spun, but nothing else functioned. The AIO fans didn’t activate. What should I do?

Check if the motherboard is updated with the appropriate BIOS version for the 5900x.

Yeah, that B450 board won't support 5900x if you got it around the time your old 3600 came out and haven't updated it since. What's worse is I don't see a BIOS flash button on that board. Checking manual now as sometimes they're on the motherboard itself. In this case you'd need to head back to the shop and hope they'll let you use a donor CPU that IS supported to update the BIOS before you can put the 5900x back in. Or find some other way to get a supported CPU temporarily.

Thanks for your message. I'm here to help. Are you looking for a budget-friendly AORUS motherboard compatible with the 5900X?

It seems uncertain, but likely not.

From what I understand of the Gigabyte download support BIOS page, the board works with Ryzen 9 starting from the F60 BIOS. You’ll likely need to borrow a compatible CPU from the original F1 release and try that. Good luck! The link to the CPU support section is here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B45...upport-cpu

The B550 and X570 boards come with it ready to use, though they tend to be pricey.
